It debuts with Samsung’s new One UI 4.0 on top of Android 12. The A53 also has a Li-Po 5000 mAh and an Mali-G68 GPU.  The Phone features a flat 120Hz AMOLED FHD+ display, an upgrade over last year’s 90Hz, with a 20:9 aspect ratio.

Design

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 256GB design is no surprise if you are familiar with Samsung’s phones. It looks everything like the Galaxy A52 smartphone which was launched on 2021, March 26. It’s made of Glass front (Gorilla Glass), plastic back, and aluminum frame. It even brings back some finishes from what we would want to consider its predecessor. There’s a new texture underneath this time around to sets it apart. And by the way, Galaxy A-Series brings IP67 dust/water resistance (up to 1m for 30 mins) on this smartphone. How cool is that?

Android 12, One UI 4

What you have got running the Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 256GB is Android 12, One UI 4.1 launcher. One UI just brings the best of Android 12 here. For instance, the privacy features are present and correct. You can fast toggle the camera and microphone access for all apps. And when you load up an app that uses the camera or the mic, you’ll get a little indicator at the top corner. You’ve got great customization in one UI. For example, you change the wallpaper and everything as usual, but you’ll also see the new color palette option as well. This can actually change up the theme and colors based on the wallpaper you’ve got installed at the time.

Cameras

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 256GB quad cameras are probably as big a change from last year’s model. There’s a 64-megapixel quad main camera, a 12-megapixel ultra-wide-angle cam a 5-megapixel macro shooter, and a 5MP depth sensor in daylight. The main cam takes decent pictures. There are good sharpness wide dynamic range, low noise, and balanced colors. You can shoot in the full 64 megapixels too, but these don’t give you much benefit. The file size is much larger.

The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 256GB has a 32-megapixel selfie camera. You would expect 8-megapixel photos. But for some reason, they come out in 12 megapixels instead. Perhaps through upscale. Selfies turn out good with nice colors. Why dynamic range and plenty of detail. The ultra-wide-angle camera is quite capable of a mid-ranger. Sharpness and dynamic range are both quite good making this a significant upgrade. Portraits taken with the main camera and that sensor are really good too.

Video recording

One feature you won’t find just anywhere is a 4K video recording from this selfie camera. But these videos look good with nice exposure. The Samsung Galaxy A53 5G 256GB can also record up to 4k at 30 FPS with its main camera and ultra-wide cam footage from the main camera, it looks decent. The colors are accurate and the dynamic range is wide. It does have a pretty good dynamic range too. Stabilization is only available when we’re recording in 1080p. And stabilized footage from the ultra-wide is super smooth.

Display

One thing that is no surprise here is the trademark Samsung infinity display is a 6.5 inch Super AMOLED with a 120Hz refresh rate and 1080 pixels resolution. And though it isn’t curved, it does have some really slim bezels. Instead of a notch for the selfie cam. There’s a punch hole. It’s not totally unobtrusive, but it’s all right. The viewing experience on this screen is great with plenty of sharpness and of course, contrast. Colors can be set accurately in the color settings. And brightness is respectable. You can get over 800 nits with a manual slider. There’s an always-on display, which will show you the time and notifications when the phone is asleep. And there’s a reliable under-display fingerprint reader to wake up the phone with.

Battery and more

So then how’s the battery life. Well, the Galaxy A53 5G 256GB has an endurance rating better than 93 hours of the Galaxy A52. It packs a hefty Li-Po 5,000 mAh, a non-removable battery. Of course, fast battery charging is available on this one. For audio, loudspeaker quality is decent. There’s a 3.5-millimeter audio jack on the Galaxy A53 5G 256GB for headphones. Actually, the quality here is great with Stereo speakers tuned by AKG and supports Dolby Atmos. There are a lot of volumes and not a lot of distortion. View Samsung Products
