Samsung Galaxy A12 is the latest smartphone to launch in 2020. The baby of the A-series range, this phone features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. The screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Under the hood is an Exynos 7885 chipset, made in-house by Samsung. The phone packs 4GB of RAM and 64GB of onboard memory, with the option of adding 512GB of expandable memory with the memory card slot.

Samsung hit the nail on the head with both the A-series as well as the M-series as the devices from both series saw mass adoption and popularity, especially in India where Samsung has a strong brand image. The company quickly launched iterations of the phones within a year and now we have news of the lineup that Samsung has prepared for 2020. The newest phone to join the A-series catalog is the Samsung Galaxy A12.

The baby of the A-series range, this phone features a 5.7-inch IPS LCD display with a waterdrop notch. The screen offers a resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. Under the hood is an Exynos 7885 chipset, made in-house by Samsung. In terms of camera specs, you get a dual-camera system on the back with a 16MP primary camera and a 2MP depth sensor for portrait shots. And for selfies, the Galaxy A12 features a 13MP shooter on the front. The battery capacity is above average as you get 5000mAh cell inside the phone which is good enough for a day or two of use.

Samsung Galaxy A12 Details

5.7 inch IPS LCD Display, Waterdrop Notch
You get an HD+ resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels on the screen of the Samsung Galaxy A12. The size of the IPS LCD panel is 6.4-inch and it sports a waterdrop notch at the top which houses the front camera. The screen has a pixel density of 295 ppi.
Exynos 7885, Quad Camera
The Galaxy A12 is equipped with the octa-core Exynos 7885 chipset which is strictly okay when it comes to upper-end performance. For example, don t expect to enjoy gaming to its full potential on this phone. The phone runs on OneUI, Samsung s customized Android skin. Within the Galaxy A12, you get 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal memory. Fortunately, you can add up to 512GB of expandable memory thanks to the micro SD slot. The A12 offers modest camera specs as well, as you get a 16MP primary camera paired with a 2MP depth sensor. You get a 13MP front camera for selfies. The back camera is capable of shooting 1080p videos.
4000mAh Battery, Connectivity Options
One thing is for sure, you will definitely get great battery life out of the Samsung Galaxy A12. The phone has a cell with a capacity of 4000mAh, which means you can expect at least two days on a single charge if used moderately. Connectivity options include Bluetooth 5.0, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, and A-GPS. You get a micro USB port for charging and the phone packs a 3.5mm headphone jack for your earphones. Unfortunately, there is no fingerprint sensor but to be fair, that is a rarity at this price range.
